Eligibility:

  • You must attend an accredited public college or university in San Diego County.
  • You must be enrolled for at least 9 credit hours per semester.
  • You must have a 2.0 GPA or above each semester.

Application Deadlines:

  • Fall - postmarked no later than June 30th.
  • Spring - postmarked no later than October 10th.

All students must submit the following documents:

  • Application - Download, fill in on your computer, print, sign, scan and e-mail to [email protected]. Handwritten applications, except for signature, will not be accepted.
  • An OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT for your last semester as soon as it is available.
  • Proof of enrollment in a San Diego County college/university with at least 9 credit hours per semester.

First time applicants:

In addition to the documents above, new applicants must also submit:
  • Proof of having been in the San Diego County Foster Care Program (letter from CPS).
  • Letter of recommendation from supportive adult.

By submitting your application, you agree to the following:

  • Attend two award Luncheons per year (one for each semester, the first Saturday in August, and the first Saturday in December).
  • You grant permission to FOS to use your photo or written (word) notes for all FOS publications, including web and print.
